The practices offered in tracks 2-6 support your body to find its relaxation response, so whether you need them for healing, calm, or resilience, they take you out of "fight/flight/freeze" and bring you home to "rest/digest/repair", the place we all need to inhabit more. They literally give your body, mind & emotions a breathing space.

Track 7 is a short meditation using the Conscious Connected Breath - a wholly different ball game of breathwork, which metaphorically speaking increases your energy "bandwidth", meaning it brings in more energy and connection to life... and it can "stir the mud" and bring up old emotions, so make sure you feel ready for that before starting this practice. This breathwork helps us to inhabit ourselves more fully. I do guide this in a very gentle way though, as taught by my breathwork school.

Track 8 is a little bonus I added later to support a healthy pelvic floor and a relaxed sense of grounding.

I haven't put any music on this album, so that you can play your own if you wish, or you can simply listen to your body and breath or the birds outside your window, should you be lucky enough to have nature nearby.

This breathwork "album" was conceived during the first lockdown, March 2020, when we could no longer work in person. I began online sessions with a mixture of clients presenting with a variety of issues from lung conditions (including as time went on, long Covid), fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue . Also those came who were feeling the strain of the added trauma that Covid presented, and clients who were healing complex as well as one off traumas. I also worked with NHS staff and those who simply knew they needed this work to be strong and resilient.

Although there was already much science backing up many of the practices offered here, I've had the opportunity to really test them for myself, and see over and over how simple yet powerful they are for anyone.

So what is presented here is a version of my hour long Breathe Online classes, but you can also mix up the tracks to create your own session that's as long or short as you have time for. I recommend you include track 6 in any mix for healing and calm, as it contains Coherent Breathing, which is in many studies conducted since 1963 has been scientifically shown to have wide array of benefits, including:

• Increases pulmonary (lung) function

• Lowers blood pressure

• Positive applications for anxiety and depression

• Improves baroreflex gain

• Improves heart rate variability (many linked benefits including reduction of inflammation and depression)

• Tones the vagus nerve

• Increases resiliency

• Increases the ability to handle stress

• Leads towards emotional balance

• Clinical improvements in asthma

the effects of practice are cumulative, so I recommend daily practice of track 6 in conjunction with some or all of the earlier tracks for optimal benefits; over time you will see the above benefits growing.

"The mind cannot grasp the power of the breath", but something deeper in us can recognise it's power through practice, and experience. I hope you find this album supportive, and would love to hear about how you find it. I am also here for your questions.
